Washing in the washing machine

Step 1: Remove the external battery from the garment

This action is necessary because a portable charger is not designed to go in water. Incompatible with this liquid, it is appropriate to remove it by unplugging it from the USB cable that connects it to the jacket. This will avoid any type of problem like damaging the power bank as well as damaging the drum of the washing machine.

Step 2: Replace the USB cable in its pocket by closing it

Once this power cable has been disconnected from the battery, be sure to fold it into the pocket intended for it while replacing its cap. Also close the pouch to protect it during the wash cycle.

Step 3: Pre-treat stains before washing

To do this, you will first need to deal with the most stubborn stains. Just like an ordinary garment, it is necessary to treat the most important tasks before washing so as not to have unpleasant surprises at the end of the cycle. If this protocol is not carried out, it is possible that tasks persist. The objective of this pre-treatment being to facilitate their elimination.

To do this, if there are any, identify the most important tasks and apply a special product there. For example, a stain remover, detergent or a mixture of dishwashing liquid, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.

Step 4: Place the jacket in a laundry net

Being made up of a cable and resistances necessary for the heating of your coat, down jacket or vest, it is advisable to use a laundry net. The protection of these elements is essential in order to safeguard the integrity of the garment. If you don't have one, you can also use a pillowcase.

Step 5: Machine wash the coat

In order to achieve an optimal washing, it is necessary to respect certain settings. The heating system being delicate, it is necessary to opt for a mild detergent while making sure to set your washing machine on a delicate program . Using specific and sensitive components, use a mode not exceeding 30°C. It is important to favor cold water temperatures so as not to damage the heated overcoat.

Step 6: Drying

Once the washing cycle has been completed, all that remains is to dry the garment in the open air and at room temperature.

A few rules must nevertheless be observed to ensure that the product is not altered.

  • Firstly, when you put it dry, do not twist and squeeze it, which will damage the internal wiring of the jacket.
  • Second, don't use a dryer. This kind of smart clothes can only be air dried.
  • Third, do not iron the coat as this will damage it. In order to avoid potential creases, lay it on a washing line, making sure to lay it correctly.

Hand washing

In order to wash a heated jacket by hand, you will need to follow steps 1 to 3 presented above.

After removing the battery, closing the USB cable pocket and pre-treating visible stains on the garment, take a basin.

This is available, all you have to do is fill it with cold water, add a mild detergent and immerse your coat in it. Once this is done, you will need to gently rub the jacket with your hands or with a soft brush.
